The first 100 Siana units were preordered before they even hit the market. The company is actively evolving, and we are preparing to release new and improved product models, and hundreds of additional devices are already on the market. At the moment, we are working on the Siana Pro project.

One of the main production challenges was Siana’s form factor - the sensor had to be small enough to fit on the most compact surface. Despite this fact, we presented the first device prototype to the client after 9 months of development, but continued to work on improving additional features.

Siana Sensor is installed on a functional machine to analyze the performance of that particular equipment, later comparing the current performance with past performance. If deviations are detected, a notification about a possible malfunction is sent to the user. Siana has NFC; it uses Bluetooth technology to configure the device and GSM to communicate with the cloud. AWS was chosen as the cloud solution, where all data is securely stored and analyzed. Data coming from the device is encrypted at every stage. In addition, the cloud is used for an additional function; in order to prolong battery life: users can set days and hours when the device will be inactive (when a given machine is not working). It can be, for example, weekends, holidays, nights, etc. If the device registers that a machine is working at a time it shouldn’t be, it will send the user a notification. Additionally, Siana measures the temperature of the machine working. Thanks to this simple function it was possible to notice overheating and ignition of one of the machines on time. In this project, we used a processor from Nordics Semiconductor – the nRF52840. Siana has a wide measurement range - from 1g to 10g.

Based in Denmark, Siana aims preventing unplanned production stops for manufacturing companies through their advanced predictive maintenance system. In 2023 Siana was nominated for the "Startup of the Year" award by Incuba A/S.
